Let's Talk About Yes!
The first campaign we decided to take on is about consent.
​
It is an important issue overall, but especially important in Universities.
In 2019, 56% of students reported unwanted sexual behaviour.
​
Our goal is to raise awareness around the topic and start a conversation.
We plan to lobby the University to include mandatory consent workshops and training for first-years.
​
Although most Universities have consent training, only 5 in the UK make it mandatory,
despite the Higher Education Policy Institute's survey showed 58% of students supported the idea of students having to pass compulsory consent tests.
​
The Amnesty International emphasise the "Yes Means Yes" approach, where consent is not given unless clearly expressed.
When it comes to consent there are no blurred lines. Sex without consent is rape.​
